These butterfly wing earrings are super light weight! This statement creation features the top side of the swallowtail hindwing. The pattern and colors are strikingly beautiful and range from burgundy, charcoal, sepia, and iridescent white to powder blue and golden yellows along the ruffley edge. You can see the other side of the wings on the back of these beauties in image 11.

The wings are secured between clear single-use plastic, cut from single-use food containers, of purchased food products, which have been washed and sterilized (see image 12). Re-Use & reduce my friends. Buy thisit.me wearable nature art!

Hanging from the bottom center of each earring is a hollow, hammered silver bead, aprrox. 1/2” in diameter (which I salvaged from a thrift store find). Small pale white, freshwater pearls are added at each end. The dangles appear to float in space, hanging from the transparent bottom edge.

These measure approx. 1+1/2”W and 3”T from top of hook to bottom dangles. The hooks are shaped and cut from antique copper colored craft wire and measure approx. 1” long (to evoke butterfly legs/antennae).

NOTE: All butterflies were gathered for me by my friendly neighborhood insectarium, after each insect’s natural life span. CARDBOARD MODELS ARE LIFE SIZED.
