My insect wing earrings are super light weight! Real butterfly wings are set between (clever reuse) of single-use plastics (image 9). This pair features the forewings of one species and hindwings of another. Colors range: iridescent blue, charcoal, cool grey, black, burgundy, ochre and white on the front facing side. The back side of the wings are for camouflage and are a pattern of subtle browns, camel and cream with small blue markings along bottom fluted edge.

Overall earring dimensions approx. 1+3/8”W and 3+1/4”T from top of hook to bottom dangle. The hooks are shaped and cut from antique copper colored craft wire and measure approx. 1+1/8” long to evoke butterfly legs/antennae (image 5).

NOTE: All butterflies were gathered for me by my friendly neighborhood insectarium, after each insect’s natural life span. CARDBOARD MODELS ARE LIFE SIZED.
