This piece was inspired by, decorative patterns painted on the interior of the wooden outer coffin of Djehutynakht, who was a governor during the Middle Kingdom of Egypt (2040-1640 BC). As I was walking around my neighborhood, I stumbled across this interesting piece of palm bark. It was wonderfully cracked and aged and reminded me of the ancient collections I had seen on a recent trip to The Boston Museum of Fine Art. (I Love Museums!) The piece measures 4+1/2"W x 8+1/2"L. I have added macramé and bead details for extra awesomeness. Imagine floating down the Nile in your wigs and armlets and being in another place and time. Hangs inside only.
