My insect wing earrings are super light weight! Real butterfly wings are set between (clever reuse) of single-use plastics (image 9). This pair features the hindwing of the same species. Colors range: iridescent blue, black, peach, sepia, cream on the front facingside. The back side of the wing’s colors are: burnt orange, black, pail blue tiny specks and cream along scalloped edge.

The accent dangle at the bottom is a small golden pearl, a little shy of 1/4” in diameter. There is a single white, faux seed pearl on the left earring as an accent. The hooks are shaped and cut from antique copper colored craft wire and measure approx. 5/8” long to evoke butterfly legs/antennae (image 5).

NOTE: All butterflies were gathered for me by my friendly neighborhood insectarium, after each insect’s natural life span. CARDBOARD MODELS ARE LIFE SIZED.
