My insect wing earrings are super light weight! Real butterfly wings are set between (clever reuse) of single-use plastics (image 9). This pair features the forewings of one species and hindwings of another. Colors range: iridescent blue, charcoal, cool grey and velvety black on the front facing side. The back side of the wings are for camouflage and are a pattern of subtle browns with one large eye and 3 smaller eyes.

The accent dangle at the bottom is a large, odd shaped white fresh water pearl approx. 1/2” in diameter. There are also small faceted round crystals front and abck as an accent. The hooks are shaped and cut from antique copper colored craft wire and measure approx. 1” long to evoke butterfly legs/antennae (image 5).

NOTE: All butterflies were gathered for me by my friendly neighborhood insectarium, after each insect’s natural life span. CARDBOARD MODELS ARE LIFE SIZED.
