I created this piece from a collection of salvaged cowrie shells from thrift store finds. The cord is woven and macraméd with black waxed cord and brown leather strands. There are 6 white cowrie dangles attached with 21 gauge aluminum wire, each using a red glass seed bead and craft wheel finding and a single elongated chain link. The center piece dangle has a red glass bead, white cowrie, 2 aqua craft accent beads, an old, red Mardi Gras glass bead, a lovely brown cowrie mounted on wood (approx. 7/8"W x 1+1/8"T) and finished with a heart shaped red craft bead. The necklace is secured by knotted ends that slip through a knotted loop (see Detail 5). Saucy Leather dangles add an extra ounce of rugged Indian Princess charm at back. When fastened, the center hangs about 5" to 6" down from base of throat.
